It's a little blog about what's up with me.

Little o' This, Little o' That

Today has been quite relaxing, just the way it should be after a busy week at work.

This morning I hung out with some dogs at the humane society. I think that I am going to volunteer there since I can't get a dog right now. I met some cool dogs. I don't know who has the lifestyle to fit those super high energy dogs, but some of them sure are cute.
I strolled around in the Pearl Street area and took some pictures. I overexposed the vast majorty of the roll b/c I thought I had a different film speed than I actually did. Oh well, you know what they say, "I'll have to just wait and see what develops."
I talked to Jack a little bit, and that's always nice. Then I did some reading. I think I am going to finish this whole book trying to decide whether or not I like it. It's called Sophie's World and apparently it was quite a good seller. It's "a novel about the history of philosophy." I keep waiting to see if the novel part kicks in a little more. Otherwise, Russell's History of Philosophy is much better written.

scared

I'm scared of going to work today because it's my stand outside day and the current air temp is -16.5, and that's in Nederland, a bit lower in elevation . If it's windy, I doubt I'll make it.

Mothering Instinct?

I must be looking for some extra caring responsibilities because I just fell in love with this dog at the Humane Society here in Boulder. Why did I go there in the first place? I don't really know; it was a whim. It doesn't seem so practical to get a dog just now. Makes it harder to move, Debra doesn't allow it, Everything else. Dang it.

Everyday Task Meets Weather

Task: Wash Car
Where: In My Driveway

It's maybe 52 degrees out, and the car sure needed a washing. I start and everything's going along great. I get about halfway through and start to feel a bit chilly, especially my wet hand. Within five minutes the rinse water is forming into an ice car coating embellished by miniature icicles. This has never happened to me before, but I don't think that experience would have done me a lot of good. When the water doesn't work anymore, your carwashing kind of comes to a necessary halt. I did get far enough for the car to look alright. I wonder if people would have noticed a half clean, half dirt coated car. Perhaps an experiment for another time...

I got accepted to clemson, my last choice so it's not all that exciting.
