Ash's Goings Ons

It's a little blog about what's up with me.

1.23.2006

Yes, it's been a while.

Okay, so I haven't posted for a long time. Why is that? I don't know if you know this, but I was driving into Boulder in order to make posts, and that just got impossible (extremely impractical) once I got the job at Eldora. Why the change of heart? WE GOT INTERNET AT THE HOUSE TODAY! Yay! (Now if only my phone would miraculously start working...)
Now, I hope to be posting regularly again, blog entries as well as pictures. I may even do an overhaul and change my blog over to my mac site. Benefit: switch away from the mac unfriendly Blogger site. Cost: I must purchase the new iLife software from mac in order to make it all possible. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it.
One thing that I've been missing here is a sense of community. I chose to live in an isolated mountain house. What did I expect, right? Recently, the UM alumni thing has been helping me out in little ways. I was driving to work the other day when I noticed that someone had written GO BLUE! in the dirt on my car window. (Some mercy about the dirt, please. I live on a dirt road.) Then, as I was scanning tickets in the lift line (my Saturday job) a guy saw my nametag, which proclaims my hometown as Ann Arbor, asked if I went to UM, and we sang The Victors together. It was completely cheesy, but good despite that.
Apart from the wonderful visits by friends and family members recently, the most exciting thing going on is my skiing. It's so fun to learn something new. I am starting to get decent (and pine for skis). The snow is just supposed to get better from here on out, too, so my opportunites to improve are increasing.
Today we had a potential housemate check out the place, and she seemed pretty cool. I would not be surprised if she moved in; she seemed into the groove of the house. This means that I might have to start keeping a reasonable amount of stuff in my fridge (boo), but I think it would be worth the house not seeming so empty. However, it wouldn't get to be as full as my fridge...
I'm starting to feel like I'm rambling, so I'm going to end it soon. I just want to say that I'm not posting pictures right now because my camera isn't exactly where I thought it was. When I find it, I'll post.

Until then
