What's Been Going On

Hello, my dear reader!
I know it has been quite some time since I have written anything on this blog, and I do apologize for that.  I think the cause is that I have managed to somehow maximize feeling busy and uninteresting at the same time.  That leads to not much time to say nothing!  Also, I have been knitting a lot, but can't post any info about that due to the proximity of Christmas *winks and knowing looks all around*.

I have been working on school a lot, too.  Most of my classes are project-based, so I can let you know about the topics, at least:
Ecological Econ: comparing social change movements and revolutions to look for common causes
Graduate Seminar: finding links between bicycle use/infrastructure and well-being
Systems Modeling: conceptualizing the organization of a community-based healthcare system

My fourth class is microeconomics, and in that I am mostly just reviewing microeconomics.  Amazingly, that is really the only economics requirement in the program!  Seems a bit odd...

The most exciting thing that has happened recently is that I had a really good fencing tournament last weekend!  Here are the results:

1   Evans, Jason C2007  C2009
2   Rivait, Birk C2009

7   Harris, Keegan D2009
8   Sewell, Ashleigh E2009
9   Watson, Doug D2008

13   Fox, Viveka C2008
14   Brackett, Ian E2009
15   Horak, Paul E2008
16   Rossi, Paul E2009
17   Treadwell, Charlotte
18   Hogan, Christopher E2009
19   Lambert, Francis
20   Granizo-Mackenzie, Zoe
21   Young, Zac
22   Lamoreaux, Zachariah D2009
23   Fletcher, Devin
24   Granizo, Amanda
25   Friedensohn, Sonam
26   Jones, Caroline
27   Glazer, Adam
28   Lamoreaux, Julie
29   Paroline, Micah

I was really happy with how I did, and it was by far my best showing in a tournament.  Yay!  Also, I beat the B rated fencer in pools, which is pretty awesome.  I was "eliminated" by Birk Rivait, one of the guys who trains with me at the UVM club.  Overall, our club did really well, and so I was also happy to have more proof that I have a good group of people to train with.

I think that covers most of what is going on with me... other than getting over a nasty cold.  Is it just me, or is it odd that people seem happy to be sick with something other than the swine flu?  It is still just no fun.
